PRP & Mesotherapy Applications
What is PRP Therapy?
PRP (Platelet-rich plasma) therapy, also known as thrombocyte-rich plasma therapy, is a treatment where the patient's own blood is drawn, processed through various procedures, and injected into the tissues to be treated. The main areas of application for PRP therapy are hair loss and skin rejuvenation (anti-aging), and it is also used as an additional treatment for tendon, muscle, ligament, and joint injuries.
What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a treatment method where vitamins, enzymes, minerals, and amino acids are applied to the skin either individually or in combination through micro-injections. The injection is made into the middle layer of the skin, and the substances to be applied and their amounts are determined according to the patient.
How is PRP Therapy Done?
In the first stage of PRP therapy, a tube of blood is taken from the patient. Then, the platelet-rich plasma is separated from the other components of the blood using the centrifuge method. The separation process takes about 5-8 minutes. Platelets contain a high amount of growth factors, which support collagen production and accelerate tissue healing. Platelets also have properties to accelerate blood flow and strengthen cartilage.
PRP therapy is administered through injection. The injection can be somewhat painful, so to ensure that the patient does not feel pain during the procedure, PRP injection is administered mixed with anesthetic medication. In hair loss treatment, after applying a local anesthetic solution to the scalp, the injection is performed.
PRP therapy can also be performed concurrently with surgical procedures; in this case, the procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
How is Mesotherapy Done?
Before the application, an anesthetic cream is applied to the skin, and it is waited until the cream takes effect. After ensuring that the cream has taken effect, the procedure is started. Mesotherapy needles are injected into the skin during the approximately 20-minute procedure. These micro-needles with anti-aging effects can reach up to the middle layer of the skin. Mesotherapy provides skin rejuvenation and lifting effects.
What are the Applications of PRP Therapy?
In recent years, PRP therapy has been used in many conditions either alone or in addition to other treatments. These include:
- Hair loss: PRP is the most common application area. PRP injections are used to prevent hair loss and promote new hair growth. PRP therapy is particularly successful in male pattern baldness. Treatment can be combined with hair mesotherapy.
- Skin rejuvenation: It is possible to eliminate signs of aging on the skin and improve the overall appearance of the skin with PRP. Platelets increase the elasticity of the skin and show positive effects on skin deformities such as wrinkles and sagging. Tendon injuries: Another application area of PRP therapy is tendon injuries. Tendon is the tough and thick tissue bands that connect muscles to bones. The biggest problem with tendon injuries is the slow progression of the healing process. The healing process can be accelerated by using PRP injection therapy to treat chronic tendon disorders.
- Osteoarthritis: PRP injections are recommended for patients with osteoarthritis. When PRP is injected into the knee and hip joints affected by osteoarthritis, it is possible for the disease to progress in a positive direction. What are the Applications of Mesotherapy? What are the Types of Mesotherapy? Mesotherapy means middle skin treatment. This treatment is used especially for skin rejuvenation and facial lifting purposes. Besides facial mesotherapy, hair mesotherapy is also a frequently used method.

It is ideal for patients who are afraid of needles and want to treat sagging, scar marks, stretch marks, and spots on the face, neck, chest, and décolleté areas. When combined with filler application, mesopeeling provides more permanent and effective results.
