What is Cryolipolysis?
Cold Lipolysis, a regional slimming method that has become popular in recent years, can be briefly defined as a process of freezing fats in the body. This enables getting rid of unwanted fats in a short period of time.
Cold lipolysis is a non-surgical procedure. It kills and eliminates fat cells in predetermined areas by freezing them and expelling them from the body. As it does not require surgical incision or operation, it has quickly become the most demanded regional slimming treatment.
How Is Cold Lipolysis Performed?
Although the cold lipolysis/body sculpting procedure may vary depending on the individual's fat ratio, it generally yields effective results in 4-6 sessions at most. While some patients may require only one session, others may need 2-3 sessions. There is a 4-week gap between sessions.
A single session lasts between 30-60 minutes. Before the procedure, problematic areas with regard to fat in the body are identified, and a body analysis is performed. To protect the outer surface of the skin before the procedure, a specially prepared antifreeze membrane is placed on the target area. Both heads of the device can be used in one session. The targeted fat cells are frozen between +5/-16 degrees and expelled from the body.
Cold lipolysis is a painless procedure. Even individuals with low pain thresholds may feel slight discomfort in the first 5 minutes of the procedure and then get used to it. This treatment is FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) approved and has no harmful effects on health.
Which Areas Can Cold Lipolysis Be Applied to?
The main areas where cold lipolysis is applied are the abdomen, hips, upper arms, buttocks, back, waist, and upper thighs.
What Is the Recovery Time After Cold Lipolysis?
After the session, patients are discharged immediately. As it is a non-invasive procedure, there is no pain or discomfort restricting daily life after the treatment. There may be slight redness and bruising on the skin after the procedure. The results of the treatment become more apparent from the 3rd to the 4th weeks onwards.
What Should Be Considered After Cold Lipolysis?
After undergoing regional slimming treatment with cold lipolysis, strenuous and heavy exercises should be avoided in the first few days. Light exercises that do not strain the individual and short walks contribute positively to the results obtained from the treatment. After the sessions, it is important to drink plenty of water and avoid excessively salty and oily foods. Otherwise, new fats may replace the ones eliminated by the treatment, and the individual may gain weight.
Who Is Cold Lipolysis Suitable For?
Cold lipolysis is generally suitable for individuals with a normal body mass index or slightly above normal who have fat accumulation problems in certain areas.
Pregnant women, those who have given birth less than 3 months ago, individuals with pacemakers, heart and diabetes patients, and those under 18 years old are not suitable candidates for treatment.
